Mrs. Amato and I, twice a year, get to show off our school by creating a bulletin board at district 26's main office, inside M.S. 74. This year's theme was Native American's and Pilgrims. Class 2-203 wrote an essay, comparing and contrasting the Wampanoag Tribe and The Pilgrims. I created a typical shirt and moccasins that the tribe would wear as well as their headband and their homes, (a "Wetu"). Ms. CiccotelliWelcome to my Art Blog! It is my 4th year teaching in a New York City public school and I couldn't be any more delighted that it has been with P.S.31q. I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Education (B.F.A.) from LIU POST as well as a Master's in Fine Arts (M.F.A). also from LIU POST. My theory in practice for all grades is to teach through the Elements and Principles of Design. (i.e. line, color, shape, form, pattern etc.) The students get a well rounded arts education with introduction to artists and art history. It is my goal to aid your children in their other subjects by integrating what they are learning in their classrooms.
