Be sure to check out the newest tab on the drop down menu up top! I've added a new tab for our self-sustaining after school programs in which I teach arts and craft activities to 3rd through 5th graders on wednesdays and  pre-k through 1st graders on Thursdays! We have a blast creating messy and fun projects on a weekly basis!

A big THANK YOU to all of our parents and guardians who so kindly donated some of the essential supplies I need to keep a clean classroom! I now have a PLETHORA of paper towels, baby wipes, tissues and hand soap! If you haven't already sent your child in with these items, please don't! We have plenty and I have reached the capacity for storing all of these supplies! I had no idea I would have such an amazing response. Again, thank you so much but I do not need anymore of these supplies. I will reach out again towards the middle/end of the year if I need to restock.

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Welcome to the new school year! I am so eager to get the creative juices flowing and make some art with your little artists. As you may know, we get pretty messy in the art room and we can use your help to keep clean.   Please send your child in to art class with the following necessities:

·      1 package of Baby wipes
·      2 rolls of paper towels
·      1 Hand soap
·      1 Box of Tissues

Please be advised that some of the above supplies may need to be replenished during the course of the year.

In addition, some of our projects will require recycled objects.  Please do not throw away any of the following items, as we could use them for some upcoming projects:

·      milk/orange juice cartons/milk gallon jugs (cleaned and rinsed out please)
·      cardboard, toilet paper and paper towel tubes
·      egg cartons
·      coffee containers (plastic)
·      shoe boxes

Thank you in advance for your support of the arts program at P.S. 31. I am looking forward to a great year!

    Ms. Ciccotelli

Welcome to my Art Blog! It is my 4th year teaching in a New York City public school and I couldn't be any more delighted that it has been with P.S.31q. I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Education (B.F.A.) from LIU POST as well as a Master's in Fine Arts (M.F.A). also from LIU POST. My theory in practice for all grades is to teach through the Elements and Principles of Design. (i.e. line, color, shape, form, pattern etc.) The students get a well rounded arts education with introduction to artists and art history. It is my goal to aid your children in their other subjects by integrating what they are learning in their classrooms. I hope you enjoy the projects they are bringing home as much as I love teaching them!
