We are so proud of our students that were a part of this very successful night! Thank you to all of those who were in attendance! Enjoy these photos from our amazing night! Parents or Guardians; We’ve been getting pretty messy in the art room and need your help! If you are able, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please send your child in with 1 or 2 packages of baby wipes to help keep the art room and our little artists clean. Thank you in advance for your constant support of the arts program at P.S. 31. I am looking forward to continuing a great year! Best Regards, Ms. Ciccotelli Welcome back students! I am so excited to get this year started! I have so many fun art projects in store for you! This year we will be implementing writing about our artwork like the real artists we are! Stay tuned for pictures and descriptions of all of our projects.
Hello out there! Its been a little while since I was able to post due to technical difficulties with my wifi at home but the blog is officially up to date! Don't forget to scroll down, each grade has more than one new posting! Enjoy!
Parents or Guardians;
It’s that time again! We’ve been getting pretty messy in the art room and have used all of the baby wipes previously donated. If you are able, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please send your child in with 1 or 2 packages of baby wipes to help keep the art room and our little artists clean. In addition, we no longer need milk/water gallon jugs or cartons but can still use recycled items such as: -Newspaper* (I can use LOTS of old newspaper!! I'll be using it especially for this years musical!) -Toilet paper and paper towel rolls -Egg cartons -Cardboard Thank you in advance for your constant support of the arts program at P.S. 31. I am looking forward to continuing a great year! I'm hoping everyone had a wonderful and relaxing holiday vacation! This years art show and winter concert was a hit, the students worked extra hard this year and I couldn't be any more proud. See below for the display in the cafeteria if you weren't able to make it to the show! We are so excited to get this years musical started! Click the link on the upper right corner of this page for our PS 31 ARTS facebook page where audition packets and more information about the musical is posted!
Mrs. Amato and I, twice a year, get to show off our school by creating a bulletin board at district 26's main office, inside M.S. 74. This year's theme was Native American's and Pilgrims. Class 2-203 wrote an essay, comparing and contrasting the Wampanoag Tribe and The Pilgrims. I created a typical shirt and moccasins that the tribe would wear as well as their headband and their homes, (a "Wetu"). Take a look at the photo's I took after we finished putting everything together!

Ms. CiccotelliWelcome to my Art Blog! It is my 4th year teaching in a New York City public school and I couldn't be any more delighted that it has been with P.S.31q. I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Education (B.F.A.) from LIU POST as well as a Master's in Fine Arts (M.F.A). also from LIU POST. My theory in practice for all grades is to teach through the Elements and Principles of Design. (i.e. line, color, shape, form, pattern etc.) The students get a well rounded arts education with introduction to artists and art history. It is my goal to aid your children in their other subjects by integrating what they are learning in their classrooms. I hope you enjoy the projects they are bringing home as much as I love teaching them! Archives
