This week our Thursday classes made trick or treat bags to take with them on their trick or treating halloween day! (Of course these bags can be used for any other type or storage or everyday use.) We used canvas bags and drew on them using fabric markers so these bags are ready for the washing machine if they get dirty!

The students this week finished their pinch pots and they came out absolutely beautiful! I'm sure they have told you already but because I don't have a kiln (machine used to fire ceramics) we used air dry clay and acrylic paint. This pots are not for use with any type of liquid or food! Instead fill these with different items such as office supplies, candy or anything else that is not wet! 

Today students made these deliciously amazing ice cream cones using shaving cream, paint and glue mixture! We had a SWEET time making them!

Try it at home!:
3/4 part shaving cream
a big dollop of elmers glue
a small squirt of tempera paint, acrylic paint or food dye (you can add more or less depending on how dark you would like the color) 
whip all that up in a bowl with a foam brush until you don't see any more white of the shaving cream (thats of course unless you want it a little marbleized!) and voila! paint with your hands or a foam brush! 

Today students began creating their very own pinch pots made of air dry clay! They will be dried and ready to paint next week. Not only did the students learn the process of creating a pinch pot but they learned some other techniques of clay handling and some vocabulary too! Students created these incredibly adorable minions using toilet paper rolls, construction paper, and tempera paint. We had such a fun, messy time creating these!
